Comments (0) Celebrity endorsements are everywhere. From soda pop to insurance to video games, the advertiser hopes the face will bring in consumers. Jenny Craig is no different. Valerie Bertinelli, Jason Alexander, and Carrie Fisher are three of the familiar faces plugging Jenny’s weight loss program.
While other weight loss plans have celebrity endorsers, Jenny’s is unique in that the celebrities blog during their weight loss journey. They share the good times and some of the tougher times. These people have enough money to hire someone to follow them around and slap cookies out of their hands, yet they choose to fight their weight problem in a public forum.
Kirstie Alley was a former Jenny Craig celebrity endorser. Rumors swirled around the tabloids when she stepped down. Hurtful, hateful headlines like, “Jenny Craig Fires Kirstie Alley for Getting Fat Again.” Bertinelli and the other celebrity endorsers are putting themselves out there and opening themselves up for ridicule – at least by the tabloids – should they ever fall off the wagon and gain their weight back.
